READ ALL ABOUT US

Perfect Pitch are one of the best choral groups in the country. All boys and girls have to join us in a 'Free Trial' in order to join the choir. The choir has been such a success that we have a 'Mini Pitch' and 'Training Choir' for our younger members. All our choirs provide opportunities for children to develop their musicality and singing experience, whilst offering fun and friendship.

Rehearsals are held at our own custom built recording studios in Great Longstone, Derbyshire;

  • Mini Pitch 4pm - 4.30pm WEDNESDAY

  • Training Choir - 5pm - 5.45pm TUESDAY

  • Perfect Pitch - 5.15pm - 6.15pm TUESDAY

  • Key Voices - 6.30pm - 7.30pm TUESDAY (fortnightly rehearsals)

Having our very own recording studios and 'in house' writing team enables the choir not only to perform music especially written for them but also have its songs professionally recorded and produced.

In 2015 Emma Hopkins the choirs musical director founded the children's choir Perfect Pitch who have already achieved success reaching the Barnardos choir 2016 & 2017 finals performing at the prestigious London Royal Festival Hall. The group won outstanding choir of the day at Choir Of The Year 2016, which saw them through to the Children's Choir Of The Year finals held at The Birmingham Symphony Hall.

Perfect Pitch are proud to represent Steelworks Recording Studios who are the choir’s main sponsors! This collaboration gives exciting opportunities for the children to perform in many high profile projects which have included recording a charity single for Help for Heroes. The choir performed at the album launch where Take That superstar Gary Barlow went supersonic at the Vulcan hangar in South Yorkshire to help raise more than £65,000 for Help For Heroes charity Hidden Wounds. The children were also thrilled to be asked to sing on the sound track to the highly acclaimed Eddie the Eagle film!

2017 was a memorable year for the 40 piece choir who performed to 10 million viewers on the Britain’s Got Talent live semi-finals where they sang the well known “Friend Like Me” from the musical Aladdin, and sure enough, they put on a show to bring a big smile to Simon Cowell’s face. They were also selected to sing at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the prestigious Music For Youth Proms, a huge honour as it’s a musicians dream to perform at this iconic venue.

In October 2017 Emma and her husband Tom became proud parents of a baby girl, inspiring Emma to compose the song ‘Born To Shine’. Perfect Pitch recorded the single in February 2018 and were elated to see it reach number 2 on the children's ITunes download charts.

2019 was an exciting year! Perfect Pitch had a fantastic time when they sang with Musical Theatre group Collabro at the Buxton Opera House in February. The children were also invited to perform at the Sheffield City Hall in a charity gig with special guests Gary Barlow & Alfie Boe. They then returned to the Sheffield City Hall in April to join the world famous Kingdom Choir on their debut tour. Another highlight for Emma and the choir this year was filming the BBC Songs Of Praise Young Choir Of The Year Finals. After an intense final Perfect Pitch were crowned winners and now hold the title BBC Songs Of Praise Young Choir Of The Year 2019. BBC then invited back to the BBC to perform in the UK’s Top 10 Hymns TV Programme. Perfect Pitch sung the number 1 Hymn, Jerusalem alongside Lesley Garrett, Russell Watson, Aled Jones and Chelsea Pensioner Colin Thackery.

In 2022 Students filmed four songs for BBC One as part of their programme featuring the beautiful Chatsworth House. The performances are frequently aired on BBC One.

Our senior group Key Voices were selected as one of 6 youth choirs to compete in the National Choir of the Year Finals 2022 & 2023, held at the Barbican in London. Members were overjoyed to be awarded second place in such a high standard competition

2024 has kicked off with a bang! The choir will be travelling to Barcelona to perform as part of the World Mobile Congress at the Olympic Stadium. WOW Our Training choir have also been selected as finalists in the National Choir Competition 2024.

Perfect Pitch love performing up and down the country and over time the choir has become known for its gospel sound, infectious energy and enthusiastic performance.
